Starry Starry Nights Logo Contest

We will celebrate the 44th Annual Borrego Days Desert Festival October 24-25. The theme, "Starry Starry Nights", recognizes our pending application to be named California's first Dark-Sky Community by the International Dark-Sky Association, and the United Nations' designation of 2009 as the International Year of Astronomy.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Borrego Art Institute are collaborating on a "Starry Starry Nights" logo contest, designed to showcase the work of desert artists. Entries are due at the Art Institute by April 24th. The highly-visible logo will appear in Borrego Days marketing and on sponsorship materials and merchandise (tee shirts, mugs, posters).

Entries will be displayed at the Borrego Art Institute, with an opening reception and show in mid-May. The Chamber will establish a jury to select the winning entry, and the artist will be awarded $1,000.

The guidelines require that submitted work be created here in Borrego Springs. There's no better time than spring to enjoy the beautiful night skies, as the Milky Way emerges.
